You are migrating a data warehouse, moving to the cloud, or retiring an ageing system.
Queries crawl, loads overrun, or the platform needs more care than your team can give it.
Sources need connecting and nobody has time to build and test the pipelines.
The same measure means different things in different reports.
You know what is needed and want people who have done it before.
Every project starts with agreed outputs, who is responsible for what, and what "done" means.
We design, build and test the pipelines that bring data into your warehouse and keep it current. We favour ELT written in SQL, so the transformation runs inside the warehouse on its own parallel engine. We have used that approach on Teradata, Netezza, Greenplum, Redshift and BigQuery. When a platform moves, we also rebuild the old ETL that goes with it.
We build models people can use, from the structure of the warehouse to the datasets analysts query every day. That includes dimensional models, clear definitions, and checks on data quality.
We move data, schemas, queries and pipelines from one platform to another, and check that the results match. We have migrated Teradata applications and workloads to Netezza, Oracle, SQL Server, Redshift, BigQuery and Hive, and we plan moves to Azure, AWS and Google Cloud.
We review how a platform is built and run, and tell you what to fix first. That covers performance, high availability, disaster recovery and the choice of platform. Our open-source DBSee checks measure a Teradata system against best practice, and read only the data dictionary, never your business data.
When a project has stalled, or needs extra hands with specific skills, we step in to design, build, test and implement.
Our deepest experience is in MPP data warehouses and PostgreSQL, on premises and in the cloud. If your stack is not listed, ask us.
One of our specialists gets in touch to ask about your goals, your technology and your requirements.
We write down the outputs, who does what, and the acceptance criteria, so everyone knows what “done” looks like before work starts.
Our engineers work as an extension of your team, not at arm's length.
Each output is checked against the acceptance criteria.
There is no obligation in the first conversation.
We have worked with organisations across finance, retail, automotive, technology, industry, health and the public sector. You can see some of them on our About page. A few examples of the work:
Analytics teams were working across several legacy data sources. We brought them into one data portal, giving them a single, reliable view of the business.
Logistics data was fragmented. We implemented a unified data source that analysts reach through Tableau, turning it into live operational analytics.
Genting wanted to centralise its data in the cloud for the first time, and was short on data warehouse experience. We supported the whole journey.
Need ongoing support after the project?
Our database administrators look after your databases on a monthly service.
Want people to ask questions of your data in plain English?
Questions become SQL that a person approves before it runs.
Need a private analytics platform that keeps your data in Europe?
A sovereign cloud platform that keeps control of your data in Europe.
Want this as an ongoing, coordinated monthly service instead of a one-off project?
DBAaaS, ETL/ELT, data modelling and DBAsk bundled into one managed service.
The list is where we have the most experience. Tell us what you run, and we will say honestly whether we are the right people.
We scope it first. We agree the outputs, who is responsible for what and the acceptance criteria, then send you a proposal.
A member of our team contacts you to ask about your goals, your technology and your requirements.
Yes. We usually work alongside your engineers, not in place of them.
Yes. Our clients include banks, health bodies and government organisations.
A specialist will come back to talk through your goals, your technology and what a sensible first step looks like. There is no obligation.
